Theme of the Year: Making Knowledge Useful
In a time where research and insight must rapidly translate into better services, this year’s theme asks:
- Does new knowledge reach decision-makers, healthcare professionals, and the public?
- Does it influence policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines – and are these followed?
- Can evidence-based practices realistically be implemented in daily services – and are they affordable?
- Are people actually following public health advice, like nutrition guidelines or anti-substance campaigns?
- When is the knowledge base “good enough” to move forward with implementation?
This year, we invite you to explore these questions and share your perspectives, experiences, and innovative approaches to turning knowledge into action.
What Are We Looking For?
We encourage submissions that focus on:
- Implementation research in health and care services
- Strategies for making knowledge usable in practice and society
- Competence development and education as tools for knowledge use
- Visualization and measurement of implementation outcomes
- Collaboration and new methods to bridge the gap between research and action
- Reflections on implementation in your field: What works? What’s challenging?
- Measures and tools that support successful implementation in real-world settings
Whether you’re presenting a project (planned, ongoing, or completed) or facilitating a dialogue about shared challenges, we welcome your voice.
